Master of Ceremonies at the Royal Benefit Screening of TIGER’S WORLD
by Harun Rahman
Lara Ariffin and team at Nuvista Media in thd presence of HRH Sultan Nazrin Shah, Sultan of Perak and HRH Tuanku Zara Salim Raja Permaisuri Perak. A stunning film of guessed hidden world of tigers made from clips obtained from the many many hours of footage we have from Rimau’s camera traps put in to protect and monitor our forests in Perak as a key part of its tiger conservation work.
Truly amazing images. But also indicates the challenges the tigers face who are critically endangered in Malaysia. We have less than 150 of the subspecies of Malayan Tigers left in the wild.
Their Royal Highnesses were ever so gracious and relaxed and supportive of all that was done.
The screening was supported by Gold Sponsors Yayasan Hasanah and YTL Group; Silver Sponsor Vale; and Bronze Sponsors Berjaya Corporation Berhad, Club Med Borneo, Dato’ Kathleen Chew, The Edge Malaysia, Sunway Group and VERITAS Design Group. Aurum Theatre, The Exchange TRX, supported the event as venue collaborator, while artist Christine Das contributed a tiger artwork. Individual ticket holders and donors also contributed to RIMAU’s conservation efforts.
Special thanks to Ruth Yeoh Head of Sustainability of YTL Corporation Bhd who flew in from Singapore to join us and the YTL Team including Lucius Chong Directior in the Chairman’s Office.
